Construction and Operation of HYDRASIEVE SCREENS
The slurry is fed into the headbox. The incoming fluid flows over the weir above
the screen area and the velocity is accelerated. Any turbulence in the flow is
reduced by a hinged baffle as the liquid approaches the screen. On the first
slope of the screen (which has three slopes of different angle), most free fluid
is stripped. On the second slope, more fluid is removed and solids roll downward
on the screen. On the final slope, solids decelerate for simple drainage action,
and are moved off the flat surface being displaced by oncoming material. Stripped
water passes through the screen and is discharged from the water outlet.
For a higher dewatering efficiency, the patented screen of HYDRASIEVE uses the wedge wires which have a wedge-shaped section. The screen wires are curved so as to prevent clogging of the screen.
